The European Union has added three adult content companies to its list of tougher rules for new online content. These companies are Pornhub, Stripchat and XVideo. These companies have been included in the list of companies subject to strict regulations.

Three adult content sites will be monitored

The Digital Services Act (DSA) requires companies to share data with authorities and researchers for risk management, internal and external auditing surveys. Last April, 5 Alphabet subsidiaries, two Meta Platform units, two Microsoft Business, X and Alibaba's Ali Express were named among 19 companies under the European Union.

DSA's responsibility to provide a safe online platform for children

Block's head of industry Thierry Breton says Pornhub, StripChat and XVideos meet the limitations of users covered by the DSA's restrictions. Providing safe online platforms for children is the responsibility of the Digital Services Act. With three new names on the DSA's list, the number of giant platforms regulated by Brussels in the 27-nation bloc has risen to 22.

Canada's PornHub said it had 33 million average monthly users as of July 31. According to the commission official, the designation is based not only on the number of users reported by the company, but also on information received from third party or optional sources. Earlier, XVideos claimed to have 160 million users in the European Union while StripChat claimed to have over 500 million users globally.
