About 36 thousand employees who have completed more than 10 years of service in the government departments of Punjab will be regularized soon. It will start with 28 thousand employees. More than 10,000 employees in the education department and more than 7,800 in the health department have been cleared.
The Cabinet Sub-Committee has finalized the list of employees to be appointed. As soon as CM Bhagwant Singh Maan approves, 28 thousand employees will be confirmed. After this, the process of regularizing 8 thousand more raw employees will start.
A cabinet sub-committee was constituted by the government to confirm raw employees. After several meetings, the cabinet sub-committee has cleared the way to confirm 28 thousand employees. The government had asked that the cabinet sub-committee should check how many employees are working as per the documents, and there is no impediment as per the rules.
The Cabinet Committee has completed its work. A final decision will be taken after the meeting of the sub-committee with the Chief Minister. In the second phase, after this, the process of regularizing 8000 employees will begin. Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema said that after regularizing the contract employees, a policy is being prepared for the outsourced employees. The promise made by the government will be fulfilled.
On the government’s decision to appoint raw employees, Punjab Secretariat Employees Union President Sukhchain Singh Khaira said that if the government wants to hire raw employees, why the condition of working for at least 10 years. The government should make sure all the contract and outsourced employees who have been working for 5 to 7 years so that the work can be improved in the government departments.
It may be mentioned that according to the new policy only those employees of Group C and D who have completed 10 years will be included. Worked as ad hoc, contract, daily wage worker in offices. It is necessary to work 240 days every year in 10 years. These days do not include public holidays. Retirement will be in 58 years. In case of any complaint against fixed employees, action will be taken under Act 1970. The government will clarify all the terms and conditions soon.
