This is the biggest terrorist attack in Kashmir in the last three years, in which many senior officials have been martyred so far. During the search operation, the terrorists opened fire on the security forces. However, the competition continued on the second day as well.

According to news agency PTI, one jawan has been martyred in Anantnag, while one is missing, who is feared to be seriously injured. The Resistance Front, a banned outfit linked to Lashkar-e-Toiba, claimed responsibility for the attack.

 

 

The police have said that two Lashkar terrorists are hiding in Anantnag, who have been surrounded by the army. One of them is Uzair Khan, a resident of Nagam Kokarnag. Uzair joined Lashkar in July last year.

Along with this, in the encounter that started on Monday (September 11) night in Rajouri, the army killed two terrorists, while rifleman Ravi Kumar was martyred. The competition ended on Wednesday night.

In Rajouri on Tuesday (September 12) also, one jawan was martyred and two terrorists were killed during the encounter. An army dog ​​also died during the search here. He risked his own life to save the life of his handler. The competition has ended in Rajouri.

Two AK-47, 7 magazines, 2 bullet proof jackets and about three dozen cartridges have been recovered from the encounter site. Apart from this, medicines made in Pakistan have also been recovered. The name of the military dog ​​who died here was Kent. During the search for the terrorists, the dog was walking ahead of its handler when it was shot dead.

Martyr DSP Humayun Bhatt of Jammu and Kashmir Police was cremated in Budgam district on Wednesday night. Earlier, Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and DGP Dilbagh Singh paid tributes to him. Humayun was a resident of Tral in South Kashmir. He got married last year. He has a 2 month old son.
