Giving more information in this regard, Social Security, Women and Child Development Minister Dr. Baljit Kaur said that during the initiated action regarding pension, it was revealed that among the farm holders, there are 63424 persons who are receiving old age pension from the department and their annual income is more than Rs.60000/-. Whereas for old age pension the annual income of the beneficiary should not exceed Rs.60000/-. He said that the Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann is committed to make the state corruption free.

Giving information in this regard, the Cabinet Minister said that many old-age pensioners of the department also belong to the farmer class. If forms are issued by the Punjab State Mandi Board to the farmers about the income after selling their crops. In order to find out their annual income correctly, the department compared the data of Punjab State Mandi Board.

The Cabinet Minister said that according to the policy, the benefit of pension should be given only to the needy and eligible person who fulfills the conditions as per the rules. After the department identified such persons, the minister directed the district officials to issue a 15-day notice to the concerned persons and within 15 days of receiving the notice, the beneficiaries should submit their income documents (such as income certificates or other necessary documents). ) can present their case at the District Social Security Officer office of their district.

The minister said that even before this, a survey of beneficiaries receiving old age pension through Anganwadi workers in Punjab state was conducted by the department during July 2022, according to which 90248 beneficiaries were found dead. 25.00 crore rupees was recovered from the inheritance of the beneficiaries by the department. According to the instructions given by the minister to the officials, the process of surveying the deceased beneficiaries through Anganwadi workers in Punjab has been started again.
