T20 World Cup: India beat Australia by 8 wickets in a practice match

India have beaten Australia by nine wickets in their second practice match of the Twenty20 World Cup. Batting first after winning the toss, Australia scored 152 for five. In reply, India won the match by 153 runs for the loss of two wickets in 17.5 overs.

The hero of India’s victory in this match was captain Rohit Sharma, who played a brilliant innings of 60 runs. Apart from him, KL Rahul scored 39 and Suryakumar Yadav scored 38 not out. In the first practice match too, India had defeated England by 7 wickets.

Chasing the target set by Australia, Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul added 68 runs in 9.2 overs to give India a great start. Spinner Ashton Agar broke the partnership by getting KL Rahul caught by David Warner. KL Rahul hit three sixes and two fours in his 31-ball innings.

Rohit Sharma, who was out of the last practice match, appeared in full color. Rohit completed his half-century with a four off Marcus Stoinis. Rohit hit five fours and three sixes off 41 balls. After 15 overs, Rohit decided to retire to give the other batsmen a chance to practice.

Suryakumar Yadav, who came to bat after KL Rahul’s dismissal, also appeared in form. Suryakumar scored an unbeaten 38 off 27 balls, including five fours and a six. Apart from this, Hardik Pandya signaled his return to form with a good performance.

Australia, on the other hand, won the toss and elected to bat first, losing three wickets for 11 runs. David Warner got one, skipper Aaron Finch got eight and Mitchell Marsh got out without opening an account. Glenn Maxwell (37) and Steve Smith (61) added 61 runs for the fourth wicket. Maxwell was bowled by Rahul Chahar to end his innings. After Maxwell’s dismissal, Smith and Marcus Stoinis led the team to a respectable score.
