Food Delivery App Waayu: Actor Sunil Shetty has launched a food delivery app called Vayu. It has been claimed that there will be zero commission i.e. no commission charge. The app will enable Hotel, Restaurant and Catering (HORECA) businesses to register with this app without any commission.

Food delivery app Vayu has started its services in Mumbai from Monday. It has been developed by tech entrepreneur Anirudh Kotgire and Mandar Lande of Destec Horeca. It is supported by Mumbai-based Indian Hotel and Restaurant Association (AHAR) along with other industry bodies. According to the company, actor and hotelier Sunil Shetty will be its brand ambassador as well as its investor.

With the Vayu app, customers will be able to receive payments instantly and directly into their bank account through Paytm, Google Pay, UPI, Net Banking, Debit Card, Credit Card. It will also have the option of cash on delivery. Restaurants can engage Grab, Danzo or their own employees for food delivery. The Vayu app will also introduce a dedicated platform that will enable restaurants to manage orders by automating the order workflow, the industry body said. Listed under the name Destech Horeka, the app is founded by Anirudh Kotgire and Mandar Lande.

More than 1000 restaurants are registered on the app
The app will not charge commission on a per-order basis, but will charge Rs 1,000 per outlet per month as a starting price. Which will later be increased to Rs 2,000. The app currently has over 1,000 restaurant listings, which is expected to grow to 10,000 in Mumbai and Pune in the next three months. Currently serving in Mumbai, the company is looking to expand to other metro and non-metro cities across India. Let us tell you that this step has been taken at a time when food delivery apps Zomato and Swiggy are charging higher commissions. Recently many eateries in Mumbai have complained about this.
