Bangalore: Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated Shivamogga Airport in Karnataka. Earlier, he inspected the model which was inaugurated. Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated former CM and senior BJP leader BS Yeddyurappa on the inauguration of Shivamogga airport. BS Yeddyurappa is also celebrating his 80th birthday today.

Addressing the gathering, PM Modi said that today is special for another reason. It is the birthday of Karnataka’s popular leader BS Yeddyurappa. I pray for his long life. He dedicated his life for the welfare of the poor and farmers. His speech in the Karnataka Assembly last week is an inspiration to all those in public life.

He said that today Shivamogga has got its own airport, which has been a long pending demand. Shivamogga airport is very grand and it is very beautiful. This is not just an airport, it is a campaign for the new flight of dreams of the people of this region. Earlier, when the development of Karnataka was discussed, it was confined to the vicinity of big cities, but the double engine government is constantly trying to take this development to the villages, Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities of Karnataka.
