A case of brutal beating by a policeman has come to light in Patiala. A policeman is seen beating up an elderly man. The video of which is going viral on social media. This video is said to be from under the flyover in front of Patiala railway station. In the viral video, it is clearly seen that the policeman is beating the old man with a stick, when people nearby came to save him, the policeman is seen beating the old man.

Why did the policeman start killing the old man?

It is being told that the policeman started beating the old man because of this. Because he refused to let the policeman smoke near him. Due to which the policeman got angry and started beating the old man with a stick. The name of the accused policeman is being told as Shyamlal. who is posted in Anaj Mandi police station of the city. The elder has been identified as Balveer Singh, a resident of village Rajgarh. Who now lives in Anand Nagar B of Patiala city.

Sukhbir Badal’s reaction to the viral video

Shiromani Akali Dal President Sukhbir Singh Badal has also reacted to this viral video. He tweeted that a heart-wrenching video has emerged from Patiala in which a policeman is beating up a Sikh elder just because he stopped the policeman from smoking near him. I demand that strict action be taken against this accused and severe punishment be given so that no one makes the mistake of committing atrocities on common people under the guise of uniform.

He tweeted and wrote – A disturbing video has emerged from Patiala in which a policeman can be seen beating up an elderly Sikh just because he asked him to stop smoking near him. I demand that strict action be taken against such criminals.
