Amritsar: The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee has strongly appealed to Bhai Balwant Singh Rajoana, who is facing the death penalty in Central Jail, Patiala, to withdraw his hunger strike decision. During the high-level meeting of the Interring Committee under the leadership of Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami, it was also decided to intensify the struggle regarding Bhai Rajoana along with the appeal. In this gathering, the joint opinion has been approved according to the recommendations of the meeting of the sect representatives held yesterday.

Talking to the media after the meeting, Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami said that a letter was written by Bhai Balwant Singh Rajoana to the Shiromani Committee regarding the withdrawal of the mercy petition passed by the President, on which the Panthak representatives are of the opinion that the Sikh organization should not withdraw the petition. should be taken Because this petition was filed according to the sentiments of the sect, it is not in the national interest to withdraw it. The Shiromani Committee president said that today's internal committee meeting has also appealed to Bhai Rajoana to withdraw the decision to go on hunger strike from 5 December 2023, as it is not right to do so according to Gurmat philosophy.

Advocate Dhami said that it has also been decided to intensify the struggle on the case of Bhai Rajoana. In this regard, on 20 December 2023, a demonstration will be held from Gurudwara Sri Bangla Sahib to Rashtrapati Bhavan with the support of all panthic representatives.

Meanwhile, 26 lakh proformas filled under the signature campaign of the Shiromani Committee for the release of the captive Singhs will also be taken along. In this demonstration, the Jathedar of Takht Sahibs, Singh Sahibs, Sant Samaj, Damdami Taksal, Nihang Singh Organizations, Kar Seva Mahapuru, Panthak and Rajsi Sikh Organizations, Singh Sabhas, Farmers Organizations, Nirmales and Udasis will be gathered. He appealed to all sectarian parties and organizations to join themselves in this joint national work. He also said that he would personally approach various representatives and persuade them to be a part of it.
