Selfie taken from above Mars, China’s Mars Orbiter did wonders

China’s first independent interplanetary mission ‘Tianwen-1’ has given the first surprise of the new year. This orbiter has taken the best selfies from above the North Pole of Mars. In these images, a closeup shot of a part of the orbiter is seen in addition to the solar antenna attached to the mission. It has also shown the northern ice cap of Mars. To click these great pictures, Tianwen-1 flew a tiny camera into the air over Mars. The camera sent the photos to the orbiter via Wi-Fi and thus these images were obtained. Tianwen-1 helped land its Jurong rover on Mars in May 2021.

The spacecraft orbiting Mars is also visible in these pictures. They show the orbiter’s golden body. The images also show its silver high-gain antenna, which is used for communication. These pictures on social media have attracted everyone, including space agencies sending their missions to Mars and people engaged in research.
