How did you get started with yoga and how has been the journey so far?

Acharya Pratishtha says that no machine is required for yoga. You can do this method of meeting nature in any way by sitting or standing. There is no spirituality greater than yoga. Yoga itself is a journey of self realization. Everyone must be a part of this journey. With yoga your mind remains calm and you will be able to know what I have gained and what I have lost.

I have a deep connection with both yoga and dance. This journey of yoga had started from the mother’s womb itself. In fact, since childhood, I saw an atmosphere of yoga practice around me. Due to this, at a young age, I got a chance to do yoga on a stage with my father. This journey continues even today on the strength of the values ​​received from the parents.

Sometimes what is already present in the family adds to the challenges. Was it so?

Not in the family, but there are still some challenges in the society. Our society is still gender biased. In this male dominating society, we are living with such a concept that it is difficult for women to do anything. But being a daughter, we carried forward our father’s dream and his journey. We broke the myth of the society that only the son brings glory to his father. We have proved ourselves as a female officer. Our sanskars and the strength we got from God have helped us a lot in moving forward.

Yoga is an integral part of our life. We have had a keen interest in Yoga since childhood. First of all, at the age of three, a yoga program for children was aired on Doordarshan. In that program, we got a chance to perform on a stage with my father. For this we used to come to Delhi from Saharanpur with my father. Where in 2007 ICC was working as a Yoga Guru and Kathak artist on the post of Cultural Ambassador of India in Johannesburg.

Earlier people believed that yoga is something to be done in old age. But with time changes have started coming. We have taught yoga to 10 to 20 thousand people in yoga camps with my father. Many times I have got the opportunity to teach yoga to people even alone in yoga camps.
