Khap panchayats and farmers’ organizations have gathered at Jantar Mantar today to support the wrestlers on strike. Both have announced the formation of a joint Mahapanchayat at the protest site. Delhi Police has also made special preparations in view of this. On the other hand, the members of Punjab’s largest farmers organization BKU have reached Jantar Mantar.
Khap panchayats marched towards Delhi today in support of wrestlers sitting on dharna at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar for the last 14 days (April 23). Khap panchayats and farmers’ organizations had already announced to hold a Mahapanchayat at Jantar Mantar. After which now the members of farmers organization BKU have started langar at Jantar Mantar.
Seeing the possibility of huge crowd gathering, Delhi Police has come into alert mode. Alert continues on Sonepat-Delhi-Haryana border. Heavy police force has been deployed at Singhu border. SSB battalion is also stationed here. The police are checking here by setting up checkpoints.
