New Delhi, The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Tuesday began questioning former Railway Minister Lalu Prasad (Lalu Prasad Yadav) as part of its probe into the job-for-land scam case. A day before this, the CBI had questioned RJD supremo’s wife and former Bihar Chief Minister Rabri Devi for about five hours at her Patna residence. According to officials, a team of five CBI officials in two cars reached Misa Bharti’s residence in Pandara Park, where Prasad is currently staying, at 10.40 am on Tuesday. His questioning will continue throughout the day.
He said the CBI has already filed a charge sheet against Prasad, Rabri Devi and 14 others in the case under criminal conspiracy and provisions of the Prevention of Corruption Act and has summoned all the accused to appear before the court on March 15. Prasad has been convicted in the fodder scam case and is currently ill. The fresh questioning of him and his wife drew sharp criticism from opposition parties on Monday. Prasad’s younger son and Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav said his family has been consistently opposing the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) at the Center and that is the reason why the CBI team reached the residence of former chief minister Rabri Devi.
