Bathinda Cantonment SHO Gurdeep Singh has confirmed the notice sent to the jawans.

SHO Gurdeep Singh says that the army personnel have been asked to appear before the police. The army is investigating the firing case at its level but the police is not satisfied with it. SSP Gulneet Singh Khurana said that after this massacre, a case of murder was registered against two unidentified accused on the statements of Major Shukla of the unit in Cantt police station. After which the police has started an investigation together with the army.

SSP Gulneet Singh said that during the investigation, summons have been issued for questioning 12 jawans who were on duty at that time. The investigating officer investigating the case has expressed doubt on the statements of witnesses Gunner Desai Mohan and Gunner Naga Suresh. The number of assailants, their coming dressed in kurta pajamas and carrying an ax in one hand and a rifle in the other raises suspicion in itself. Because all the martyred jawans had bullet marks and no one was killed with an axe.
