In the women’s compound, 18-year-old Avneet Kaur won the bronze medal by defeating Turkey’s Ipek Tomaruk (147-144). Minutes before winning her bronze medal, she lost to veteran Ella Gibson (146-144) in the semifinals but Avneet made a strong comeback in the bronze medal playoff to finish ninth and second in the first leg of the World Cup. Bettered his performance by winning the bronze medal in the stage.
