According to Apple, when you hide photos and videos, they go to the Hidden album. That’s why they don’t appear in your library, in other albums, or in the photo widget on your home screen. In iOS 14 and later, you can turn off Hidden Albums so Photos are completely hidden and in iOS 16, your Hidden Album is locked by default.
To use this feature, all you have to do is select a photo you want to protect in the Photos app, tap the three button in the top right corner of the screen, and select Hide.

To find the hidden album-
- Open the Photos app.
- Tap on the Albums tab.
- Scroll down and look for the Hidden album under Utilities.
How to hide photo using third party app-
There are many third party applications available on the App Store that can be used to hide photos and videos on iPhone, such as “Private Photo Vault” and “KeepSafe Photo Vault”. These apps are usually used to access hidden photos and videos. But a passcode or Touch ID is required.
