Criminal background and manner of the incident:- SSP Patiala said that the persons involved in the above arrested gang, the members of this gang ride on motorcycles and target the general public (especially on deserted roads) late at night. They commit incidents of taking away purses, mobile phones and motorcycles etc. by inflicting injuries on the head or body or showing the real thing. During the last 2-3 months, this gang has committed incidents of motorcycle theft from Chhoti Barandri, areas outside Rajindra Hospital, outside the bus stand and from Sirhind Road, Rajpura Road etc. Under which 14 stolen motorcycles have been recovered from this gang.
A rifle with 12 bore including 4 rounds, a pistol with 315 bore including 2 rounds, 14 motorcycles, a chadi chain/bracket, and 8 sharp weapons (Datar, Kirpana, iron rod, Gure) etc. have been recovered.
SSP Patiala said that the above accused will be produced in the court today on 07.06.2023 and they will be remanded in police custody and further interrogated. With the arrest of these gangs, many issues of robbery, snatching and theft have been solved in Patiala district.
