Rana Tariq, Deputy Secretary of the Project Management Unit, which manages the Kartarpur Corridor, said last evening that there is no flood or flood-like situation in the Kartarpur Corridor on the Pakistan side. He has appealed to the Indian side to resume the pilgrimage immediately.

In a video message, Gobind Singh, the chief granthi of Gurdwara Sri Kartarpur Sahib, said that there was a flood in the Ravi river a few days ago and the water receded within a few hours. Since then the water level has come down considerably and at present everything is normal at the zero line.

He demanded that the pilgrims should be allowed to go to Pakistan according to their schedule. Buses, electric vehicles, security teams are ready at zero line and Gurughar is also waiting for devotees.

Pakistan has completed all arrangements
Gobind Singh said in the video that despite the closure of the crossing from the Indian side, various government departments including PMU, Punjab Disaster Management Teams, Evacuee Trust Property Board, Irrigation, Public Works Department etc. have made arrangements to deal with any situation. All necessary arrangements including deployment of buses, boats and rescue teams have been made to ensure the safety and well-being of pilgrims. Showing the main gurdwara, parikrama, he claimed that there is no flood water here.

The journey can start from Sunday
Gurdaspur DC Dr. Himanshu Agarwal has postponed the one-day trip to Gurudwara Sri Kartarpur Sahib for 3 days for the safety of pilgrims. The administration will take stock of the situation today and the journey may resume from Sunday.
