Orange Alert has been issued by the Meteorological Department in many districts of Punjab

The Meteorological Department has issued a Yellow Alert in Punjab till January 8 and has issued an Orange Alert for fog in 8 districts of the state today. Increasing fog is now directly affecting rail traffic as well. Most of the morning trains are running behind schedule.

According to the latest warning issued by the Meteorological Department, orange alert of fog has been issued in Sangrur, Mansa, Patiala, Fatehgarh Sahib, Mohali, Ludhiana, Rupnagar, Moga in Punjab. Visibility here is expected to remain below 50 meters. Also other states have yellow fog alert and everyone has been asked to be careful while using the road.

On January 9, the Meteorological Department has predicted the possibility of light rain. If this happens, it will also affect the fog and the fog may become denser in the coming days. But people are about to get relief from the dry cold. Asthma and respiratory patients are facing problems due to lack of rain till now.

The effect of fog is also visible on the trains departing from Punjab on Thursday morning. Trains departing from Amritsar or other parts of Punjab are running behind schedule. The Railway Department has also given instructions to reach the railway station only after getting information from its official mobile application NTS or 139. The following trains are currently running slightly behind schedule-

Amritsar Indore Express is running late by 2.30 hours.
Amritsar-New Delhi Shatabdi is running about 15 minutes late.
Amritsar-Nanded Sachkhand Express departed from Amritsar with a delay of 25 hours.
Amritsar-New Delhi Super Fast is running half an hour late.
Pathankot-Delhi is also running behind schedule.
