On the occasion of Independence Day, CM Mann announced, said- 'We will make Punjab drug free in one year'

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann hoisted the national flag in Patiala on Tuesday on the occasion of Independence Day. After this he inspected the parade along with Chief Secretary Anurag Verma along with DGP Gaurav Yadav. On this occasion, the Chief Minister said that most of the martyrs were Punjabis. Punjabis made the country free and know how to maintain this freedom.

He said that whenever a shot is fired from the side of the enemies, the first place to fight is the Punjabis.

Targeting the opposition parties, Mann said that they should not explain what patriotism is. He said that the biggest concern is in which hands the country will go after independence. The reins of the country have been in our hands for 76 years and we have to tell what we have done for the country. He asked the children to familiarize themselves with the history of the country.

August 14, the painful day of partition
CM Mann said that yesterday August 14 was the painful day of partition. One million people were killed, there were bloody people everywhere. All were his own family members and relatives. Punjab and the people were divided. That is why freedom cost Punjab very dearly. He said that it is very important to remember history.

A Tribute to Little Sahibzades in Parliament
CM Mann said that while he was a Member of Parliament, he had asked Speaker Sumitra Mahajan to pay homage to the Chote Sahibzades on their Independence Day. The Speaker told them that this has never happened till date but asked them to bring this demand on record. On this, CM Mann appealed to the MPs protesting in the Parliament to remain calm to pay homage to the Sahibzades. Mann said that he is happy that he has been given this duty, while no other Chief Minister has done so.
