Kailash, who has been cultivating figs for about one and a half years, is expecting a good profit this time. In fact, he states his aim to promote organic farming.
Talking about the big deal for figs, Kailash also told that he used to do his own business in Assam. When his brother started handling his business, he came to the village and started farming. Due to the ancestral land in the village, he started working on it. Kailash told that he used to do business earlier also and is still in the fruit business. However, now he himself has also taken the experience of dry fruit cultivation.
For fig cultivation, keep in mind that this plant tolerates hot and dry climate well. Low temperature is not harmful to this crop. Although humid weather is definitely dangerous. Figs can be grown especially in low rainfall areas, where water availability is less from October to March. That is, Rajasthan is an area with favorable weather for this.
Medium black and red soil is said to be suitable for fig cultivation. Salty black soil with limestone is even better. For the best fig crop, you should make arrangements for good drainage of water in one meter deep soil field. Too much black soil is not good for this fruit tree. The tree does not grow as well as it should in shallow and well-drained soil.
