Indian Bank Association Working Days: Generally most of the people have bank accounts nowadays. Sometimes you have to commute to your branch due to some work or the other. But, soon some rules of the banking system are going to change. Which will affect almost every customer equally.
Employees and their families are going to have a lot of fun with this new rule. This rule was being discussed for a long time. Now this change has also been approved by the Indian Banking Association (IBA). Now the entire burden is in the hands of the finance ministry. This rule will be implemented as soon as it is finalised.
A media report has also stated that now preparations are underway to give two days off in a week to bank employees. Until now, banks were closed on the first and fourth Saturdays of every month. But according to this new rule, it has now been proposed to give bank holidays on the second and third Saturdays as well. As soon as these rules are passed, the 5 working days formula will come into effect. Let it be known that IBA was demanding 2 holidays in a week for a long time. After this, it has also been approved by the association.

In the Indian Banking Association meeting on 28 July 2023, the employee unions demanded a bank holiday on Saturday as well. Which has also received approval from the industry association. Now the IBA has forwarded this proposal to the Finance Ministry. The association hopes to get approval for this proposal soon. However, the government should have no problem in approving this proposal.
2 Working hours will increase with holidays
Let us tell you that a condition has also been included with this holiday offer. According to this condition, where one working day will be reduced in a week, the working time will increase by 5 days in the working days. After this proposal is approved, there will be work in banks only 5 days a week from Monday to Friday. Instead of this, the work will be increased by 45 minutes daily. In total, working hours will be increased by 45 minutes each day and 2 additional holidays will be given in a month.
The schedule of banks was changing for 8 years
You must be feeling that this change is being made for the first time in banks due to holidays. But it is not like this. It should be said that since the year 2015, continuous efforts have been made in this direction. Earlier or even now banks work for 6 days and only Sunday is a holiday. But, after the implementation of this new rule, the second and third Saturdays of the month will also be declared as holidays. According to this proposal, now employees can get 2 days off in a week.
