NIA raided 10 places in Punjab and Haryana this morning. According to information, raids have been conducted at nine places in Punjab and one place in Haryana.
The NIA conducted raids in Punjab’s Sri Muktsar Sahib and Bathinda early on Tuesday. The NIA raided the house of Mehkdeep Singh son of Gurwinder Singh at Guru Nanak Mohalla on Abohar Road Bypass of Sri Muktsar Sahib at 6 am on Tuesday. Mehkdeep Singh deals in toys. Currently, NIA has not shared any information regarding this raid with anyone. According to sources, the reason for the raid is being said to be a case of extortion.
The team has called Mehkdeep to Chandigarh for questioning. The team did not bring anything. It may be mentioned that raids were conducted by NIA at various places in the district in the past as well. Meanwhile, the NIA team had reached the house of a man associated with religious organizations on Kotakpura Road to raid and even at that time, no suspicious thing was recovered.
