The new Parliament building will be inaugurated tomorrow. Due to the opposition parties protesting the inauguration of the new Parliament building, the Delhi Police has come into alert mode. Security arrangements for the inaugural function will be the same as on January 26 and August 15. All the borders of Delhi will be sealed from the morning of May 28. No vehicle except essential vehicles will be allowed to enter Delhi.

A senior Delhi Police official said that a fool-proof plan is being prepared for the security of the programme. Police are holding regular meetings with Home Ministry officials. The police have requested more companies of paramilitary forces from the Ministry of Home Affairs. All the neighboring states have been asked to stop vehicles in front of Delhi borders, so that there is no problem like traffic jam. Apart from this, people will be appealed to cooperate in security arrangements through social media.

The officials of Delhi Traffic Police have made adequate arrangements to run the traffic smoothly. Police have advised people to stay away from the New Delhi area unless necessary. However, traffic will continue in New Delhi. Some roads will be affected or traffic will be heavy from 5.30 am to 3 pm due to inauguration of Parliament House. Several VVIPs/VIPs and other dignitaries are likely to attend the inaugural programme.

MOTHER TERESA SERESANT ROAD GOLCHAKAR (R/A), TALKTORA, BABA KHARAK SINGH MARG, R/A GOL DAK KHANA, ASHOKA ROAD, R/A PATEL CHOWK, ASHOKA ROAD, R/A WINDSOR PLACE, JANPATH, R/A MLNP GHERABANDI Wala area, Akbar Road, R/A Gol Methi, Akbar Road, R/A GKP, Tin Murthy Marg, R/A Tin Murthy and Mother Teresa Crescent Road will be treated as regular areas.

Only public transport vehicles, civil service candidates, actual residents, labeled vehicles and emergency vehicles will be allowed inside the zone. The general public and motorists have been advised to be patient. The instructions of the traffic personnel posted at the intersections have been asked to follow the traffic rules and road discipline. It has been advised to stay updated through Delhi Traffic Police’s Facebook page, Twitter handle, website and helpline.
