New instructions for mid-day meal issued

MiddayMealScheme : New guidelines have been issued by the department regarding mid-day meal given to children in government schools of Punjab. In which, due to the recent rains, due to flood water or rain water draining away, food grains have also spoiled in schools located in many areas. In such a situation, instructions have been given to the heads of these schools.

According to the instructions issued by the Education Department, the school head will first check the grain to see if the grain can be used or not. If not, the school head will inform the school management committee. In the presence of the members of the school management committee, the details of the amount of spoiled food grains will be prepared.

Aluminum utensils can cause diseases like anemia, mental retardation

Along with these orders, the department has also given instructions to minimize the use of aluminum utensils for preparing mid-day meal. According to the instructions issued by the Ministry of Education, aluminum is a harmful metal, which has an adverse effect on health. According to the ministry, its long-term use can also cause diseases like anemia, mental retardation and osteomalacia. Not only this, cooking in uncoated aluminum utensils also adds its metal to the food.

Children can be more affected by it, so this metal utensils should not be used. The department has also instructed to sensitize all schools not to use aluminum utensils. So that its use can be completely stopped in the coming days.

The DEO will prepare the records of the entire district under his supervision

The school head will share this record with the block officer. Along with this, this record will be sent by the Block Officer to the District Education Officer (Elementary). The department has also issued a performance in this regard. Which has been asked to be filled and sent to ensure. If the school head does not notify in writing then the school head will also be responsible. The department has also made it clear that action can be taken against the concerned officer in case of negligence at any level.
