Thanking NABARD for sanctioning the highest ever new projects worth Rs 919 crore for the state of Punjab, the Finance Minister commended the NABARD team for financial year 2023 in view of the good performance of the state and best utilization of funds for improving rural infrastructure. -24 (RIDF-XXIX) appealed to increase the state’s allocation to Rs.1500 crore for new projects.

On this occasion, the Finance Minister said that for the overall development of the rural economy this year, projects in the areas of roads and bridges, irrigation, drinking water and sanitation, education, renewable energy, health, skill development, warehouses, horticulture and land conservation etc. on priority basis. Emphasized the need for funding.

Taking stock of the progress of various projects being implemented by NABARD under Rural Infrastructure Development Fund (RIFD), Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema directed all the administrative departments to utilize the funds available from NABARD. Focusing on maximum utilization of resources as well as speeding up the pace of implementation of these projects so that they can be completed at the earliest to benefit the people of the rural areas of the state.
