Here on Friday, the Calcutta High Court has sought an action report on the violence to the District Magistrate and Superintendent of Police till April 3. The court said that the state should work carefully. Also, appropriate steps should be taken to protect the violence affected.

According to reports, communal tension started on 26 March after a procession taken out in front of the mosque of the area. The Muslim community staged a protest on 27 March in protest. Meanwhile, the mob attacked Hindus shops, houses and vehicles.

According to the police, the situation is currently under control. Those identified in the video footage have been sent to police custody, while the rest have been sent to judicial custody.

Leader of Opposition in West Bengal and BJP MLA Suvendu Adhikari wrote a letter to Governor CV Anand Bose regarding Mothabari violence. Suvendu said that there is chaos in the Mamta government. Therefore, the state government should be instructed to deploy Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) in Mothabari with immediate effect.
