On April 25, Jasvir Singh jumped into the forest and slapped 2 Granthians who were sitting in Tabia in Gurdwara Sri Kotwali Sahib of Morinda and after that took off their turban and then tried to desecrate Sri Guru Granth Sahib.

Doctor’s statement
The doctor of Mansa Civil Hospital said that Jasvir Singh was admitted at 4:10 pm. He was having difficulty in breathing and also had chest pain. According to the doctor, Jasvir Singh’s condition became critical at 8 pm, but despite our best efforts, he died at 9:10 pm.
Statement of SSP Nanak Singh
The SSP of Mansa said that Jasveer Singh died in the civil hospital, the postmortem will be conducted in the morning, he said that there is no conspiracy, the board of doctors will conduct the postmortem. The SSP said that there was no attack on the accused in the jail which led to his death. He said that the accused was taken to the hospital on time, as soon as the hospital doctor asked to take him to the civil hospital, the jail administration came into action. When he was asked what information came out during the remand, he said that it is a matter of Ropar police, only they can tell. The SSP said that the family of accused Jasvir Singh has been notified of death.
Announcement of Tehal Seva Organisation
The Tehal Sewa organization has announced that the accused Jasvir Singh should not be cremated at any place in Murinde and that no Granthi Singh should pray for him in any Gurdwara and should not be offered bhog.
Statement of SGPC
SGPC General Secretary Gurcharan Singh Grewal said that the end of a sinner is the same, but the death of Jasvir Jassi also raises many questions. He said that the police had not been able to establish any connection with Jasveer after the insult. The general secretary of SGPC said that like Jasvir Singh, the accused of blasphemy were caught from Kesgarh Sahib and other places too, but the Punjab government did not give any information about what was done with them. He said that the police had remanded Jasveer for 2 days but they could not figure out who was behind it. Grewal said that Jasveer’s death is suspicious and should be investigated.

Senior BJP leader Harjit Singh Grewal said that Jasveer Singh was not mentally ill. Who told him to insult, the answer to all these questions was to be found by the police.
