Chandigarh By Chandigarh Welfare Trust (CWT). Chandigarh (Chandigarh) Over 20,000 people from Chandigarh and surrounding areas benefited from free medical services during the mega multispecialty health camp organized at Anaj Mandi in Sector-39 of Chandigarh on Sunday (September 24). The camp was a part of CWT’s ‘Seva Pakhwara’ which began on September 17, Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 73rd birthday.

It supported their vision of ‘self-service’ for the welfare of the citizens, especially the poorer sections of the society. This camp was inaugurated by Banwarilal Purohit, Governor of Punjab and Administrator of Chandigarh.

Prosthetic limbs were distributed to disabled people

During the camp, about 350 needy disabled people were fitted with artificial limbs, 300 people were screened for various types of cancer, 5000 sanitation workers were tested for Hepatitis-B. Vaccination (Vaccination) Done, 2200 people were eye examined, 1500 eye glasses were distributed and 8000 medicine kits were distributed. During the camp, free medicines were given to all age groups. During the camp, 26 medical associations, hospitals and institutes collaborated with CWT for the free mega health camp. More than 500 doctors and 1200 paramedical staff and volunteers offered free health services to the people in the camp.

22 types of health facilities provided

22 types of health facilities were provided during the health camp. These included cancer screening to make citizens aware of cancer and its symptoms. Apart from this, General Medical Checkup, Child Health Care Camp, Dental Checkup Camp, Mental Health Counselling, Eye Checkup Camp, Orthopedics Camp, Gynecology Camp, Hepatitis B Vaccination and Pulse Polio Vaccination Camp, Homeopathy Camp, Ayurvedic Camp etc.
