Howrah : A major rail accident took place in West Bengal. According to information, a local train has derailed in Howrah. It is a matter of pride that there was no loss of life in this accident. All the passengers aboard the local train have narrowly escaped. Three coaches of a local train derailed at Maju in Howrah.

Information is being received that at around 1 am, three coaches of the Howrah-Amta local train derailed, one kilometer away from Maju station in Amta of South Eastern Railway. Railway officials along with the accident relief train from Santragachi reached the spot. There is no information about any casualty. The accident took place as soon as the train left Mahendralal Nagar and entered Maju station. Although the passengers believe that the train was saved from a major accident due to the efforts of the driver. Railway officials reached the spot as soon as the news was received.

Train operations on Howrah-Amta railway line disrupted

South Eastern Railway CPRO Aditya Chowdhary said that the accident is being investigated whether the rail line had a pre-existing crack, or the rail line got cracked after the derailment.
