Somalia’s sports minister described it as shameful

According to the report, Abubakar completed the 100 meter race in 21.81 seconds. That is a full 10 seconds more than the time taken by the winner. Somalia’s Sports Minister Mohammed Barre Mohammed has described this incident as shameful. He said, “What happened today (in China). It did not represent the Somali people. We apologize to the Somali people for this.

According to the report, Nasra Abubakar Ali allegedly had no previous experience of participating in such competitions. Many people also wondered why he was chosen.
