Gopi Krishna Kunwar, Lohardaga: Jail Court cum Legal Awareness Camp was organized at Mandal Jail, Lohardaga. Addressing the prisoners on this occasion, Dalsa Secretary Rajesh Kumar said that Lohardaga Dalsa has two priorities among the prisoners. First, the prisoners who do not have their own lawyer to fight the case, will be provided with a lawyer from the Dalsa panel at government expense. Second, the prisoners who have been granted bail, but due to the conditions of bail they are not able to get out of jail, will help them to get the prisoners out of jail by changing the conditions of bail from the concerned court.

Send a copy of the court bail order to the jail without delay

On this occasion, the jail management was told to identify the prisoners who have been granted bail, but could not come out on bail due to onerous conditions of bail, and inform the Dalsa office without delay. Because the Supreme Court, while passing an order on January 31, 2023, has said that the prisoners who get bail, the concerned court will send a copy of the bail order by mail to the jail without any delay. If the prisoner is not able to come out of the jail within seven days, then the Jail Superintendent will inform the Dalsa Secretary.

You can apply to the court for change in bail conditions

Dalsa Secretary can apply for change in bail conditions to the concerned court after obtaining the economic/social background of such prisoners from the Probation Officer. The court can also release the accused on temporary bail, so that he can arrange for his sureties. If the prisoner is not able to come out of the jail even after getting bail for a month, then the court itself can fully consider the conditions of bail. If the accused is not able to get out of the jail due to non-availability of a local surety, then in such a situation, the court can change the conditions of the local bailer.

Submit weekly report to Dalsa office

Dalsa Secretary gave clear instructions to the concerned jail officer that under any circumstances, following the above instructions, submit the weekly report to the Dalsa office. On this occasion, various prisoners lodged in the jail put forward their problems, which will be solved by meeting the concerned court. Judicial officers and jail inmates were present on this occasion.
