JE and Clerk of Improvement Trust taking bribe caught by Vigilance Bureau

The Punjab Vigilance Bureau has caught Jagjit Singh, Junior Engineer and Sanjeev Kumar, Sales Clerk, both posted at Amritsar Improvement Trust, red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 50,000 during the ongoing anti-corruption drive in the state.

Expressing this here today, the official spokesperson of the State Vigilance Bureau said that the above employees have been arrested on the basis of a complaint filed by Inderjit Singh, Nawan Kot, Amritsar.

He further informed that the complainant has approached the Vigilance Bureau Range Amritsar and alleged that the said employee had accepted a bribe of Rs. are demanding

The spokesman said that after the preliminary investigation of this complaint, the vigilance team of Amritsar range laid a trap in which JE Jagjit Singh and Clerk Sanjeev Kumar were caught red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 50,000 from the complainant in the presence of two government witnesses.

He said that in this regard, a case has been registered under the Prevention of Corruption Act in the Amritsar range of the Vigilance Bureau and further action is underway.
