The Deputy Commissioner, while inspecting the fields affected by rain and hailstorm in Nihalgarh and Dhandyal villages of Dirba and Kanjhala and Punnawal villages of Dhuri sub-division, said that the Punjab government has taken measures to support the farmers who have suffered crop loss due to continuous rain and hailstorm. Acre compensation has been increased by 25 percent.

During his visit, he talked to the farmers and assured to give compensation soon on behalf of the government.
Mr. Jorwal said that before the special girdawari in all the sub-divisions, a public hearing was conducted about the whole process so that no affected farmer would be deprived of his right.

The Deputy Commissioner said that according to the instructions issued by the government, a special Girdavari report will be prepared and sent to the Punjab government soon so that the compensation amount can be released to the farmers as soon as possible.
On this occasion Deputy Commissioner along with Assistant Commissioner (Under Training) Nitesh Jain, S. Apart from DM Dirba Rajesh Sharma and Tehsildar Dhuri Kuldeep Singh, officials of Agriculture Department and Revenue Department were also present.
