A similar case has come to light from Jalandhar where robbers looted a temple priest. According to the information, 15 thousand in cash and a gold ring in his hand were robbed by robbers late at night from the priest of the famous Gita temple in Jalandhar. Pandit Somnath said that he was returning on a scooty from his daughter-in-law’s birthday party. A car followed them from Cheema Chowk. A woman in a car in Mithapur stopped him on the pretext of asking about his location. After this, two youths sitting in the car threatened and looted.

The daughter-in-law and son of Pandit Somnath, who reached the spot, said that the police reached the spot after about an hour after receiving the information about the incident. Both of them said that there were three people including a woman in the car. When the woman stopped Pandit Somnath on the pretext of location, the young man driving the car asked the young man sitting behind to hit Pandit on the head with a sword. He also said that whatever is in the pocket, take it out.

Pandit Somnath said that the robbers had sharp weapons. The robbers were also intoxicated. When the woman in the car came out on the pretext of asking the location, the two young men also came from behind. A young man asked to be struck with a sword on the head. Pandit Somnath said that he got scared. He gave about 15 thousand rupees in his pocket.

Pandit Somnath said that the robbers also took the ring from his hand. They said that he was about to take away the gold earrings from her ears, when the car of her family came from behind. The robbers immediately got into their car and escaped from the spot. Pandit Somnath said that if the lights of the family’s car coming behind had not been lit, he could have harmed them with a sword.
