Jalandhar bank robber absconded with 4 lakh cash from an old man

A case of robbery has come to light from the branch of Indian Bank located in Civil Line of Jalandhar, Punjab. A robber ran away after robbing an elderly person who came to deposit cash of Rs 4 lakh in a bank. It is being told that the robber came to the old man as a bank employee and told him about the mistake in the filled voucher. After this, the robber ran away with the cash, asking for a deposit. The entire incident of robbery has been captured in the CCTV camera installed in the bank.

According to the information, 80-year-old Vijay Chopra, the owner of Rajan Electrical located at Phagwara Gate, went to deposit cash at the Indian Bank branch located at Civil Line as usual. A robber who was already sitting in the bank, pretending to be a bank employee, told the elderly Vijay Chopra that you have not filled the voucher properly and told the old man to give me the cash, he will deposit it at the counter.

Mistaking him as a bank employee, Vijay Chopra gave him the cash. After this, instead of going to the counter, the robber escaped directly by opening the door of the bank. By the time the elderly Vijay Chopra shouted, the robber had fled. The victim said that there were notes of 100, 500 and 2 thousand rupees in the cash. The police was immediately informed about this incident.

The police immediately reached the spot after receiving the information of the robbery from the customer in the bank. The police have taken possession of the footage of the CCTV cameras installed in the bank. Police officials said that the robber’s face is not clearly visible in the CCTV. Along with this, the bank officials say that the person who robbed has never been seen in the bank before. At present, the police are looking for the robber.
