Rest of India defeated Madhya Pradesh by 238 runs thanks to the excellent performance of the bowlers and retained their possession of the Irani Cup. Chasing the target of 437 runs for victory, the Madhya Pradesh team was bowled out for 198 runs in 58.4 overs. Fast bowlers Mukesh Kumar and Atit Sheth took two wickets each and Navdeep Saini took one wicket while spinners Pulkit Narang and Saurabh Kumar took two and three wickets respectively.
Yashshvi Jaiswal was adjudged ‘Player of the Match’ for his innings of 213 and 144 runs. In this match, Pulkit Narang took 6 wickets and Mukesh Kumar and Navdeep Saini took 4 wickets each for ‘Rest of India’. On the other hand, Avesh Khan took the maximum 6 wickets from Madhya Pradesh.
