Sitharaman said, I want industries to come forward in the field of renewable energy as well as rare metals. She assured the industry that the government would actively consider their suggestions on various issues. With regard to the utilization of capital expenditure, the Finance Minister said that the government would monitor it on a regular basis.

Budget allocation increased on infrastructure

He expressed confidence that the states will also utilize the fund for infrastructure development. He said that the Center has allocated Rs 1.3 lakh crore in 2023-24 to the states. This is 30 percent more than the current financial year. Most of the funds that have been allocated to the states are unconditional. In the budget speech on Wednesday, Sitharaman announced a 33 per cent increase in capital expenditure on infrastructure development to Rs 10 lakh crore. This is 3.3 percent of the GDP.
