South Africa has suffered a crushing defeat against Team India for the second time in 4 days at the most famous cricket stadium in Johannesburg. In the first match of the ODI series on Sunday, December 17, the fast bowlers of Team India dismissed South Africa for just 116 runs and then achieved this target in just 17 overs and won the match by 8 wickets. With this, Team India has taken a 1-0 lead in the 3-match series. The star of India's victory was left-arm pacer Arshdeep Singh, who became the first Indian pacer to take 5 wickets against South Africa.
The last T20 match between Team India and South Africa was played on December 14 at the Wanderers Stadium. In that match, Team India scored 201 runs while batting brilliantly. In response, the South African team collapsed for only 95 runs. Then star spinner Kuldeep Yadav wreaked havoc. Now after 3 days Indian fast bowlers have destroyed South Africa. The duo of Arshdeep and Avesh Khan together took 9 wickets.
Arshdeep-Avesh won the match
Arshdeep started it in the second over of South Africa's innings. He dismissed openers Reeza Hendricks and Rassie van der Dusen in consecutive deliveries. Then by the 10th over, Arshdeep also took the wickets of Henrik Klassen and Tony De Georgi. South Africa thus lost 4 wickets for just 52 runs and all four went to Arshdeep, who had not taken a single wicket in the last 3 ODIs of his career.

After Arshdeep it was Avesh's turn and this fast bowler also took 2 wickets in 2 consecutive balls. Then, taking the wicket of David Miller in the 13th over, Avesh dashed the rest of South Africa's hopes. South Africa lost 7 wickets in just 13 overs. Andile Phehlukwayo struggled for a while and scored a team-high 33, which saw South Africa reach 116.
Sudarshan shone in the debut match
Rituraj Gaikwad and young batsman Sai Sudarshan opened for Team India. The 22-year-old Sudarshan was making his international debut with this match, but on his very first ball, Sudarshan hit a boundary with a cover drive. Rituraj could not last long and returned to the pavilion in the fourth over but Sudarshan's magic continued. He also got good support from Shreyas Iyer. Both completed fifties one by one.

Earlier, Sudarshan made a strong start to his international career with a 41-ball fifty. Then immediately Shreyas also played half-century in 44 balls. Shreyas (52) got out in an attempt to end the match with a six off the very next ball but Sudarshan remained unbeaten on 55 and returned after giving the team victory. Along with this, India has won the ODI match in Johannesburg after 12 years. The next match of the series will be played on Tuesday, December 19.
