Bureau report : The Punjab Haryana High Court has issued a notice to the Punjab government on the petition of Congress MLA Sukhpal Singh Khaira and asked for a reply by October 10. Sukhpal Singh Khaira had called for the cancellation of the order calling his arrest illegal. In the petition filed by Khaira’s lawyer, it was said that he has got relief from the Supreme Court. Still, it is wrong to arrest him in this case. The orders of the Supreme Court of the country have been ignored. Because Khaira has already got bail from the High Court.
Justice Anup Chitkara sought an answer from the Punjab government
On Thursday, Judge Vikas Bahl dissociated himself from Sukhpal Singh Khaira’s petition and sent it to the second bench. After which, Justice Anup Chitkara, while hearing the petition on Monday, issued a notice to the Punjab government and directed them to file their reply by tomorrow.

Arrest based on SIT report
Sukhpal Singh Khaira is being investigated in an old drug case of 2015. In this, based on the report of the SIT led by the DIG, the court ordered the arrest. This SIT also includes SSP. While Sukhpal Singh Khaira says that this is a false case. The Supreme Court has also given them relief.
