A day ago, in village Kandyana Kalan, people were going to take a patient to the hospital in an ambulance late at night, but the policemen stopped his car in front of the ambulance. When people asked him to remove the car, he started arguing with them. The police also came to the spot but no one said anything to him.
The policeman’s brother Balwant Singh said that Beant Singh is posted in Ludhiana CIA-2. The family has ostracized him. He has occupied the house by force. Even in the village he scares people with his uniform.
Balwant said that Beant also mentally harasses his uncle’s son. Beant beats his wife. He has iron gates installed in the house, so that the sound of his wife’s screams does not come out. The family asked the wife several times to file a complaint at the police station, but she did not go to file a complaint fearing his beating.
Balwant said that his brother is addicted to drugs. He beats his wife only when he is drunk. Sometimes he wakes up the sleeping children and starts beating them. The family demands that legal action be taken against Beant and an investigation be conducted.
Balwant said that he has gone to the police station about 25 times to file a complaint, but the police did not listen to him. Beant’s mother Malkeet Kaur said that her daughter-in-law tried to commit suicide a few years ago. Because of this, she gives separate houses to both her son and daughter-in-law, but still her son abuses her.
Meharban police station SHO Jagdeep Singh said that it is wrong to beat or abuse the wife and family. Immediate action will be taken after receiving the complaint from the family.
