The people who occupied these parks were using them as private parks. Someone had opened the door of his house towards the park, while some people had occupied it by setting up a grill. People used to park their cars in a park in Sector-23.
The official of the municipal corporation said that notices are being given to the illegal occupiers to vacate their possessions. Strict legal action will be taken against any person who re-occupies in such manner.
Out of the 156 parks found encroached upon in the municipal survey, the most are found in Sector 15, Sector 27, Sector 18, Sector 19, Sector 20, Sector 21, Sector 22, Sector 23 and Sector 45. . In this, a house owner in Sector 27 had constructed an illegal gate in his wall leading to the park.
