Six cities of Punjab have managed to rank in various categories in the clean air survey conducted by the Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change. However, no city in the state has made it to the top-10. Ludhiana has been ranked 26th and Amritsar 36th among cities with a population of more than 1 million, while Patiala has been ranked 10th and Jalandhar 36th among cities with a population between three and 1 million.

Indore in Madhya Pradesh is number one

Let it be said that Indore of Madhya Pradesh was ranked first in the clean air survey by the central government. At the same time, Agra of Uttar Pradesh has got the second place and Thane of Maharashtra has got the third place. This information has been shared by the Union Ministry of Environment. It should be mentioned here that this survey has been conducted by CPCP. Air quality of 131 cities under CPCP has been included in this survey. In this survey, Parawanu of Himachal Pradesh topped the category of cities with less than three lakh population.

Pathankot and Dera Baba Nanak got an important place

Two cities have made it among cities with a population of less than three lakh. Among them, Pathankot and Dera Baba Nanak have got the 32nd place and Derabassi, considered the gateway of the state, has got the 37th place. The state government has taken several important initiatives to clean the air in these cities. Air purifiers were installed from Dera Baba Nanak to Derabassi. Apart from this, a tree planting campaign was also conducted in these areas. Along with this, e-vehicles have also been encouraged.
