The Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has set up a SIT to investigate cases of women being trafficked to Central Asian countries with the lure of jobs and good wages, as well as an FIR to be registered immediately in such cases. Nodal officer has been appointed. The SIT, headed by IPS officer Randhir Kumar, will investigate all human trafficking cases from the state.
With the formation of the SIT, the Bureau of Investigation (BOI) sent Randhir Kumar to the concerned police station, where the FIR was lodged, to assist in the investigation. has been registered, has authorized any officer associated with it to co-opt.
Along with this, Ludhiana Range IG Kaustubh Sharma has been appointed as the Nodal Officer, who will oversee the registration of FIRs across Punjab without any hindrance in such cases.
The above order issued by BOI Director LK Yadav said that it has been noticed that many women have been taken from India to Middle East countries through illegal means and human trafficking with the lure of good jobs and wages. . But there these women were kept as prisoners or forced to struggle with starvation.
An FIR was registered in Ferozepur’s Ghalkhurd police station on May 2 regarding one such incident. In its orders issued in this regard, the BOI has asked the police across the state to register FIRs without wasting any time keeping in mind the seriousness and depth of such cases.
There have been many cases of women from Punjab being sold to Central Asian countries by luring them with jobs and attractive salaries, in which many women have been rescued and brought to India with the efforts of local parliamentarians and political leaders.

The latest case has come to light in an FIR lodged by a woman in Ferozepur’s Ghalkhurd police station on May 2, in which the complainant said that a relative of hers had contacted Ahmed Abdullah, a Hyderabad-based travel agent for a job abroad. who talked about sending him to Oman on a 2-year work visa. In Oman, the complainant was asked to cook at home. But the travel agent tricked him into sending him on a travel visa to Oman, where he was imprisoned.
