The incident took place in a house in Puriyaklan village of the police station area. Accused Kamal Kant killed his 2-year-old grandson Ayush and daughter-in-law Shikha (27). Sitapur SP Chakresh Mishra said that Kamal Kant allegedly brutally murdered Ayush and Shikha.

The SP gave further information and said that the accused committed the incident only because the grandfather was disturbed by the constant crying of his grandson and when the boy's mother intervened, the accused Kamal Kant also attacked her and killed both of them. removed the wharf Ayush died on the spot while his mother was rushed to the hospital where she later succumbed to her injuries, police said.

The accused has been arrested from the house with the murder weapon. Ayush's grandmother said that she was not at home at the time of the incident. After returning home, he saw mother and son covered in blood. The grandmother told that her son works in Punjab and only four members lived in the house.
