Hafele is Paving the Way into the Next Century with Partners from the Furniture Industry

1923 – 2023: Hafele is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year, and is taking a look into the future with its versatile trade fair presentation at interzum. The international trade fair for suppliers of the furniture industry will be bringing professionals from the entire industry together from 9th-12th May 2023. Hafele, the specialist for intelligent hardware and fitting systems, lighting and electronic access control systems, invites you to a complete cosmos of new products – in a central location in Hall 7.1, Booth C-040.

During the course of its company history, Hafele has developed into an internationally operating full-range supplier, and is therefore in harmony with the spirit of the times: furniture, light or networked solutions go hand in hand with the company’s consulting and service offers – which can be impressively experienced in May in Cologne. CEO Gregor Riekena, “For us, interzum has always been THE opportunity for an international, creative exchange of thoughts and ideas. We are particularly looking forward to this in our anniversary year. Because we are concerned with more than just product innovations. We want to collaborate with our partners to develop solutions for the living and working environments of the future with the maximum benefits.”

The all-round view: Hafele connects worlds of equipment

In kitchens as well as in living room and bedroom furniture, there are numerous possible applications as far as the interplay of furniture and lighting is concerned. Apart from functional lighting, the focus is particularly on atmospheric lighting for creating different usage scenarios. Thanks to Hafele’s product range, furniture and room light can be thought of and implemented together for all usage scenarios in the form of networked room solutions.

On the trade fair booth, this is demonstrated by the light subject area, among other things. Products which integrate light in furniture, the interplay of lighting and materials or atmospheric light scenarios using room light on the booth make this connection tangible for the visitors. The product show will be accompanied by a virtual reality experience: the Hafele Blackbox – the new light showroom from Hafele and Nimbus in Stuttgart – can be experienced as a virtual twin at interzum.

The booth deals with the equipping of kitchens in a similarly comprehensive way. It shows what is possible with the Hafele product range: from lighting to fittings such as innovative flap fitting solutions or drawer systems, handle collections, sinks or splashback panels to electrical appliances and waste separation systems – Hafele is a one-stop shop for all accessory elements for planning kitchens in different sizes and for different requirements.

Hafele Online Brand Showroom provides inspirational and simple access to the wide range of advice and services

Not only the “what”, but also the “how”

It’s not a coincidence that the Service+ area is located near the Light area on the trade fair booth. Some of the visitors will be impressed by the possibilities shown there, and will wonder how they can implement the light scenes that are shown. The Service+ area will provide answers to these questions. The primary aim of the services that are presented here is relieve the strain on Hafele partners by helping them with their planning at various levels, streamlining work processes and passing on knowledge.

Invisible fittings for maximum use of space

Providing customers with simpler processes is also the focus of a product presentation in the flap fittings product range: With Free slim, Hafele is presenting an innovative slim flap fitting family which does not only merge with the cabinet and becomes virtually “invisible”, but also drastically reduces the number of variants thanks to the patented spring technology. This simplifies logistics along the entire value chain for furniture manufacturers significantly, from warehousing to selection, allocation and control processes. Gregor Riekena, “We recognised the trend towards fittings which maximise the use of the space in a cabinet at an early stage. We are setting new standards in this area with our new flap fitting.”

Proximity to the online brand world during and after Cologne

The multi award-winning online brand world (Hafele Discoveries) makes Hafele’s innovations and new products tangible for everyone who cannot be physically present in Cologne. The “brand showroom for your trouser pocket” provides numerous updates and extras for the trade fair. For example, it shows transmissions from the live stage at interzum. At the same time, the platform, which is integrated into Hafele’s website, invites visitors to explore the themed worlds of the Hafele cosmos at any time, also after the trade fair.

Other exciting areas such as Office, Micro Living, Home Office Hotel or Caravanning open up the entire spectrum of the Hafele world to visitors to the Hafele trade fair presence.

100 years of Hafele – experimenting on the way to the future

The interzum presence will be accompanied by a colourful range of events to do with Hafele’s anniversary year. An essential and sustainable building block when doing this is the development of a holistically conceived handle collection. Handles have been part of the Hafele product range since the very beginning of the company’s history. Now, on the threshold of the second century, Hafele is launching a positioning attempt concerning matters of our time with regard to people, space and furniture. The “handles” design project is developing in an open process in dialogue with designers Tilla Goldberg from the Ippolito Fleitz Group, Stuttgart/Berlin/Shanghai, and Sylvia Leydecker from 100% interior, Cologne. Hafele will present the result of the experiment at interzum 2023.

Hafele will be expressing its pride in the company’s journey to date at various levels. The trade fair presentation will provide insights into the company’s eventful 100-year history. At the same time, the trade fair booth itself with the Hafele anniversary booth design will be a directly perceptible indicator of Hafele’s dynamic departure into the future.

The Hafele trade fair team is looking forward to joint time travels into the past and the future and also to intensive and inspirational technical discussions at its unique trade fair booth at interzum 2023 in Cologne.
