A Bollywood movie is ‘Three Idiots’. The main character of this movie is Rancho. And, it has a line from a song – ‘When life goes out of control, whistle and say – all is well.’ The lifeline of the Australian team against Afghanistan was also stuck and in those stuck conditions the innings of the ‘rancho’ i.e. kangaroo team. Glenn Maxwell (Glenn Maxwell) played, that song of the film fits perfectly in that situation.
Getting from 91 for 7 to 292 without losing a wicket was not easy. But where Maxwell is, all is well. And the same was seen on the evening of November 7 at the Wankhede ground in Mumbai, after which the big cricket giants including Sachin Tendulkar, Wasim Akram were seen saying the same – never seen such a thing.
Afghanistan had fully prepared to defeat Australia. No stone was left unturned. Almost everyone accepted that Afghanistan’s victory was now certain. But Maxwell alone weighed heavily on this thinking of the time. They played such a game that it was recorded in the pages of history. Not only did he score a double century in the World Cup, but the way his script was written was also amazing. With his innings, Maxwell once again presented an example to the world of Australia’s spirit of not giving up until the last ball. Perhaps it was for this reason that after the match they thought it best to praise Maxwell simply by saying – one man army.
Where there is Maxwell, there is ‘all is well’
Australia was given a target of 292 runs by Afghanistan. Chasing this target, Maxwell single-handedly scored 201 not out, which included 21 fours and 10 sixes. Now in this respect his innings is just like ‘one man army’ or ‘one man show’. But, what the biggest giants of the cricket world think about it is even more surprising.
Never seen Sachin or Akram like this!
Some have 19 years of cricket playing experience, some 24 years. All of them are still associated with cricket under one or the other pretext. But when it came to voicing their opinion on Maxwell’s innings, all they said was – we’ve never seen anything like this before.
A wonderful knock by @IZadran18 to put Afghanistan in a good position. They started well in the 2nd half and played good cricket for 70 overs but the last 25 overs from @Gmaxi_32 was more than enough to change their fortune.

24 years cricket playing legend Sachin Tendulkar (Sachin Tendulkar) wrote on Maxwell’s innings, the more pressure, the stronger the innings. I have never seen a better ODI innings in my life.
Wasim Akram sitting in Pakistan also said something similar after watching Maxwell’s game. He said that I played cricket for 19 years, even after that I am involved. But, I have not seen a better ODI innings than the one Maxwell played. Apart from these, Virender Sehwag, Ben Stokes, Simon Doll, Harsha Bhogle were also among the cricketing giants who made the same statements as Sachin and Akram after seeing Maxwell’s innings played against Afghanistan.
Saw this coming. 200 in a run-chase, One of the all time great one day innings by Maxwell. @Gmaxi_32 was a man possessed and
great support by @patcummins30 . An innings to remember for a long long time . #AUSvsAFG https://t.co/ClOM3NdSJf pic.twitter.com/nQ8uNVh1af— Virender Sehwag (@virendersehwag) November 7, 2023

It’s not about the double century, it’s about his impact and circumstances
It is clear that it is not just a double century here. Because double centuries have already been made in the history of ODI cricket. Here we talk about the impact of that innings, which was played in conditions when Australia had only a 6 percent chance of winning the match. Maxwell’s unbeaten innings of 201 runs turned that 6 percent chance of victory into 100 percent. Now if it is so amazing then surely people will say – there is nothing better.
