Geo’s big shock to 42 crore customers – prepaid plans made 20 per cent more expensive, see rates

After Vodafone Idea and Bharti Airtel, now Geo has also given a big shock to its users. The company has increased its prepaid plans by up to 21 per cent. The new rates will be effective from December 1. Geo, the country’s largest mobile operator, on Sunday announced an increase in its prepaid tariff.

Under this Geo Phone Plan, Unlimited Plan and Data Add-ons have been increased from 19.6 to 21.3%. Just last week, Airtel and Vodafone Idea made their plans 25% more expensive. These companies attributed this to the ever-increasing losses.

A statement issued by Geo said that the current Rs 75 plan would be increased by 20 per cent to Rs 91 from December 1. The Rs 129 plan will be Rs 155, the Rs 399 plan will be Rs 479, the Rs 1,299 plan will be Rs 1,559 and the Rs 2,399 plan will now be Rs 2,879.

The price of data top-up has also been increased. It will now cost Rs 61 instead of Rs 51 for 6 GB data, Rs 121 instead of Rs 101 for 12 GB and Rs 301 instead of Rs 251 for 50 GB data.
