The shooting of the film was almost completed, but it did not turn out to be much of a success for the actor and he fell into a debt of 60 lakhs.
The film ‘Reshma Aur Shera’ was a flop and people working in the film started demanding money from him. Sunil had told in one of his interviews that he was bankrupt at that time. He had mortgaged his house and sold all the cars. Producers also refused to finance his films.
