Bureau report : Senior officials of Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB) have cheated Sikh pilgrims who went to Pakistan on Khalsa Foundation Day. ETPB President Habib Ur Rahman Gilani has resigned from the post on Tuesday after the money exchange scam came to light. However, the reason for resigning is said to be personal.

A money exchange scam

Pilgrims were given 275 rupees in Pakistan for every Indian 100 rupees. While the Indian pilgrims going to Kartarpur in Pakistan have got 325 rupees of Pakistan for 100 rupees. According to the sources, due to raising this issue, the government created forceful pressure and resigned.

Pressured to resign

Although ETPB president Geelani is giving personal reason for resignation, but there was pressure on him from the government of Pakistan. Gilani had recently raised the issue of corruption along with another senior official of ETPB during the visit of the Bharatiya Sikh Jathe. Which was supported by some ministers of the government of Pakistan. Corruption has been seen on a large scale regarding the supposed exchange with the Indian team.

ETPB maintains Sikh shrines

ETPB works closely with the Pakistan Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee. The management of Gurdwaras, temples and Kartapur Sahib in Pakistan can be seen in this way. Now the government of Pakistan has made former ISI chief Javed Nasir as the head of ETPB.
